This article from Architectural Digest shows 11 art galleries that have switched to online exhibits due to COVID-19. This is a really smart idea for artists to continue showing their work even if that is virtually. It’s also cool for the viewers to be able to see art from home. Hyperrealistic colored pencil drawings
CJ Hendry, a New York based artist, creates these amazing hyperrealistic drawings, mostly of paint, which look so real you would think it’s a photograph. She spends up to 15 hours a day drawing, and it shows. It seems almost impossible to get a drawing to look that real, but somehow Hendry can accomplish that.Continue reading “Hyperrealistic colored pencil drawings”
traveling during the pandemic with photoshop
Marty Pollak and Monica Palenzuela, a travel loving couple, have been photoshopping themselves into places that they would have travelled to if the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t exist. Instead of actually traveling they are posting pictures and videos of themselves photoshopped into places that they are unable to travel to. This is pretty creative and probablyContinue reading “traveling during the pandemic with photoshop”
Hyperrealistic oil paintings
A South Korean artist named Young Sung Kim uses oil paint and tiny brushes to paint these hyperrealistic images of fish in glass, or of other small animals. They look so real that they could be mistaken for photographs. Must take lots of time! Here is the link to the article: https://mymodernmet.com/young-sung-kim-hyperrealism/
COVID-19 hyperrealism
A surrealist artist, Tommy Fung, who is based in Hong Kong, created a series about COVID-19 on his instagram account. Using photography and photoshop, he created scenes speaking to this crazy time in history. He uses surrealism to show how crazy the world can be. I think this is an interesting series because his scenesContinue reading “COVID-19 hyperrealism”
photoshop keyboard
An etsy seller ( 3dDecors) created a keyboard with all of the photoshop tool bar tools. I think this is a cool concept for people who are always using photoshop. It would probably take some getting used to, however I think it could be really useful and more efficient. The keyboard costs $100, so ifContinue reading “photoshop keyboard”
Female Surrealists
Female artists were big contributors to the surrealist movement. An exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany, displays 34 artists, many of them had been overlooked. It’s crazy that a lot of these women weren’t given credit for their work and their influence in surrealism. It’s nice to see that they are finally giving these women the creditContinue reading “Female Surrealists”
Surrealist Architecture
The Shanghai based architecture firm X-Living uses surrealism in their architecture which according to the “livingetc” article is like something out of willy Wonka or a Wes Anderson film. The spaces look fake, and almost like out of a dream. The firm is entirely female led which I love. I love the way that everythingContinue reading “Surrealist Architecture”
Cheap alternative to photoshop
Apparently there is a cheaper and effective alternative to photoshop, and its only $39.99. Pixelmator Pro is the app, and it is available on Mac only. Whereas Adobe photoshop costs $20.99 a month. This could be a good option for people who want quality image editing, but don’t want to spend too much money onContinue reading “Cheap alternative to photoshop”

The current version has so many more tools and things that you can do with photoshop.
